Rosaline Elbay plays Judy Goodwin, a demolition expert who comes up with the ingenious methods the crew will use to break into the vault. She’s a regular on Spanish TV and recently appeared in the Netflix drama The Fight. Elbay’s other credits include 10 Items or Less, Burning Plains, and Rambo: Last Blood.

Rosaline Elbay

Kaleidoscope is Netflix’s first-ever non-linear series. The heist drama already looks like it’s going to be one of 2023’s biggest hits. The show’s eight episodes (named after colors) are arranged in such a way that viewers can watch them in any order they choose, allowing them to experience the story their own way.

Giancarlo Esposito plays Leo Pap, the leader of the master thieves who is trying to crack a seemingly unbreakable vault for a $7 billion payday. The Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian star is a savant of villainy. But he also has an innate sense of loyalty and compassion.

Niousha Noor plays driven FBI agent Nazan Abbasi, whose investigation could take down the whole heist crew. The Iranian actress has appeared on shows such as Here and Now and Stitchers, as well as the 2020 movie The Night.

Jai Courtney

After his turn in the final season of Better Call Saul, it was only a matter of time before Jai Courtney landed a major TV role. In Kaleidoscope, he plays Leo Pap, a mastermind who leads a team of thieves to try to crack the “unbreakable” vault of Roger Salas.

Courtney’s team is rounded out by Paz Vega (Rambo: Last Blood), Rosaline Elbay (Terminator Genisys), Niousha Noor (Here and Now), Jordan Mendoza, and Peter Mark Kendall. Each episode of the series is color-coded and can be watched in a different order, so there are 5,040 ways to watch it.

But despite its unique structure, Kaleidoscope ultimately struggles to rise above its gimmick. The characters are mostly caricatures, and the violence is cartoonish. It’s a shame since the show could have been something special.

From Ocean’s Eleven to Widows, the heist genre has long been a slick and stylish crowd-pleaser. Kaleidoscope takes this familiar formula and shuffles the color code, creating a twisty mind-bender with a cast of impressive performers.

The series is set around an attempt to break into a vault at SLS Security Systems that houses billions of dollars in bonds. The plot draws inspiration from a real-life Wall Street event after Hurricane Sandy. In which $70 billion in bonds went missing.
